-Urges Lege Miami, Eko 57 Group to focus campaign drive on Ikorodu

Representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, has mobilised residents of Ikorodu towards the attainment of 250, 000 votes for the re – election of President Bola Tinubu and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) come 2027, a target set by the leadership of the party in Ikorodu.
Rep. Benson also charged members of the Eko 57 Group, a group focusing on the re – election of President Tinubu, that they should focus their campaign more on Ikorodu, which gave the highest to the President in 2023 throughout the country and has the chances of doing more in the next year’s general election.

The three -term lawmaker gave the charge at the weekend in Ikorodu when the Eko 57 Group led by a content creator, Adams Kehinde (Lege Miami) and actor, Yomi Fashlaso, paid him a visit during the distribution of “Apo -Anu” food support to another 500 residents, a monthly exercise that has been on for over 10 years held at his constituency office in Ikorodu.
“I must let Lege Miami and Mr Yomi, know that Ikorodu recorded the highest votes for Mr President in 2023; the highest votes was not in Lagos alone, but the Ikorodu federal Constituency got the highest votes for Mr President throughout Nigeria, the second was Bichi Federal Constituency in Kano. So, we beat Kano and others.

“I am so glad that everybody here (for the Apo Anu Foodbank) is a politician that is why they do not know their wards when they were asked but they have their PVCs and are ready to vote. That means that we are onloading new voters and the 60,0000 vote we got the last time, will be child’s play to what we are going to get now.”
“When we had the 60, 0000 votes, we were yet to construct the Igbogbo/Oreta/Offin Road, Imota General Hospital and the bridge that President Tinubu has approved for us at Majidun. We were also yet to have ICT centres, and the over 60 roads that we have constructed , there were no new employments that we facilitated and we have not powered most areas where they now have solar light.”

“In addition, we have not sent many of our youths to China on training and there are still many other things that we have also achieved. The economy has improved tremendously and our higher institutions are no longer experiencing strikes and there is no fuel scarcity again.
“Before, whenever elections are coming up, we always experience rise in dollars to naira but now, it has reduced. These are the magic that Asiwaju has performed. So, the worst is over. We are all going to benefit more from his second term.”
Charging the Eko 57 Group, Rep, Benson who is the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Defence, said that Ikorodu must be the main focus of their campaign towards 2027 election.

“I am urging Yomi Fashlaso and Lege Miami, to focus more on Ikorodu than other local governments. I want Ikorodu to be your most referred place so that we can double the votes. While my big brother, Chief Mutiu Are is boasting of 18, 000 votes in Lagos Island, I want us to do more than we did in the last elections. We achieved 60, 000 votes because we have 632 polling booths compared to Alimosho with double polling boots. We are also going to lead again.”
He emphasised the target of 250, 000 set by thee APC leadership in Ikorodu as the focus that constituents are working to achieve come 2027.
“Under the leadership of Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, Asiwaju Olorufunmi Bashorun, and Distinguished Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, the Field Marshall, we have been told that Ikorodu Federal Constituency must deliver 250,0000 in the coming General Elections,” Rep. Benson said.

Speaking, Lege Miami thanked residents of Ikorodu for knowing the worth and giving maximum support for Rep. Babajimi Benson, who has been an exceptional leader and representative.
He lauded the lawmaker whom he said will still be governor of Lagos State, for being a responsive, reliable and supportive leader and for always holding forth for President Tinubu.
Also speaking, Mr Yomi Fashlaso, emphasised that despite the fact the Eko 57 Group is not a political one, the group always supports leaders that are impacting, adding that the Ikorodu federal lawmaker is one of the outstanding and reliable leaders.

“As a group, we are not politicians but we always identify with good politicians and one of these few politicians that we are standing with is Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson. We have done our due diligence on him to know his impacts as a lawmaker. He has sponsored many impressive bills as a lawmaker to bring development to Nigeria and has impacted on his constituency – Ikorodu with many laudable projects.”
He stated that Benson is following in the footsteps of President Bola Tinubu who has been impacting since his time as Governor of Lagos State.
“On behalf of his group, the Nollywood actor declared continuous support for President Bola Tinubu and Rep. Babajimi Benson”.
