The Executive Chairman of Imota Local Council Development Area, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, and the lawmaker representing Ikorodu Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun, have inspected the ongoing construction of the Police Tactical Squad Office in Imota, with a renewed commitment to strengthening security within the community.
The inspection, which took place on Monday, was aimed at assessing the progress of the project and its potential impact on security operations, peace-keeping and the protection of lives and property in Imota and neighbouring communities.

During the visit, the two government officials met with the Officer in Charge of the Police Tactical Squad, Officer Baba Muhammad, who briefed them on the operations and requirements of the unit. The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Imota Divisional Police Station, CSP Babatunde Ogunniyi, was also present during the inspection.
They inspected the construction work and the facilities being developed to support the operations of the tactical squad. They stressed the need for a functional and conducive working environment that would enable security personnel to discharge their responsibilities effectively.

The council boss and the lawmaker reiterated the commitment of the council authority and the Assembly to strengthening security infrastructure and supporting initiatives aimed at promoting peace and effective law enforcement.
The officials also emphasised the importance of sustained collaboration between government authorities and security agencies in addressing security challenges and creating a safer environment for residents, businesses and visitors.
Afrer completion, the Police Tactical Squad Office is expected to enhance the operational capacity of security personnel and contribute to strengthening the overall security architecture of Imota LCDA and its environs.
