Massive fire on Saturday engulfed the Ikorodu Ferry Terminal and completely razed a section of the Ikorodu ferry terminal building located at Ebute – Iga, Ipakodo, Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area of Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.
THE IMPACT gathered that the fire which started early yesterday, began at the bar section of the structure which housed several offices, shops and lounge for the ferry service among others.
The right side of the building, including the bar located within the building is razed with properties worth several millions lost to the fire.
It was gathered that quick and frantic efforts of the fire service prevented the raging fire from spreading to the other section of the building.
Workers were seen clearing the affected area when our reporters visited the scene early today.
Some of the office and shop owners were seen within the premises while the clearing work was ongoing.
Reportedly, the ferry terminal – before the fire incident – was under renovation by the Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development.
