‎While Rep.  Benson is completing his third term as the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency with outstanding records and seeking for fourth, Hon.  Shittu is vying for the position for the first time on the platform of the APC, which he joined aftermath the 2023 General Elections.

‎Shittu was the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the House of Representatives in 2023, but lost to the APC candidate, Rep. Benson.

‎It is most likely that both aspirants will be cleared, having gone through the process before and emerged as candidates for the same position.

‎For the two Assembly seats – Ikorodu Constituency I and II, about eight party members, we gathered, are vying for the two positions.

‎There will also be no problem for these aspirants to cross the screening hurdles. While Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), who is the incumbent representative of the lkorodu Constituency II, is aiming to return for a second term, one of his opponents, Mr Olakunle Alliatu Matti has also being an aspirant before and until now a senior council officials who has handled responsibilities for his party.

Hon. Abiodun (AMA), who has been adjudged as a lawmaker with great impacts, is being challenged by Matti who lost in the primary election four years ago.

‎In Ikorodu Constituency I, the incumbent representative, Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye, is also being challenged by Prince Shakirudeen Oluwatoyin Gafaar, Mr Kareem Alogba, Mr Bada Eniola Adekunle, Mr Oyeyinka Adebola Ogbe, and Mr Kareem Omotayo.

‎Aspirants for the Lagos State House of Assembly, will be screened at the APC State Secretariat at ACME.

‎The incumbent is expected to scale through the screening hurdle again as a returning lawmaker, while Bolowotan and Ogbe, who had both also been cleared for the same position in the recent past, are also expected to be cleared.

‎In the same vein, the duo of Alogba and Omotayo too should also not face any challenge in getting cleared.
