The State body of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), has described the support of the administration of Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo -Alogba, the Executive Chairman of Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), for the local branch of the youth body as unprecedented in the annals of the group in the council area.

Engr. Adigun Ibrahim Olalekan (MNSE), Lagos State Chairman of the NYCN, gave the commendation during his visit to the council chairman as part of his statewide tour of the council areas in Lagos State, on campaign against drug abuse, cultism and promotion of civic duty among youths tagged, ‘Back to Street Initiative’.

“Everywhere we go, we always try as much as possible to also encourage and appreciate the local government administrator. We want to thank you for everything you have been doing for the local branch led by my brother, Comrade Idris.

“In the history of the Youth Council, the amount of support that the Ijede local branch has gotten under your leadership, is unprecedented and I think it deserves a resounding round of applause”.

The State NYCN Chairman emphasised that the youth group is commencing its campaign in Ijede, with a large numbers of youth to express their appreciation for the council chairman.

“So, thank you so much, Chairman. I want to thank you once again. I want to thank you. And, you can see that our number here is huge and I know that you are not expecting this large number. You are probably expecting a few of us. But, because this is a home of capacity, we must also bring capacity.

“That’s what we have demonstrated today, and it’s because of the respect young people have for you all over the state. Once again, thank you so much for your partnership and support”.

Adigun also used the occasion to request for an utility vehicle for the youths in Ijede, to aid the NYCN free movements to state and other programmes.

“You agree with me that young people will continue to ask for more. The young people in Ijede asked me to help them request for a utility vehicle for their operations and they know that you can do that, because oftentimes they attend management meetings; they go to congresses and programmes in Oyo and other states, and they attend programmes in Ikeja. They don’t miss any of the activities.

“So, imagine if they now have a utility vehicle, it means that even if we want to do a program in America, there is a utility vehicle for them”.

Comrade Idris, the NYCN Coordinator, Ijede LCDA, alongside members of his team, welcomed the State Chairman of the youth organization to Ijede, and thanked the state body for commencing the statewide activities in his council area.
