-As Presidential aide extends financial support to market women, CDA

The rehabilitated borehole water project sponsored by the Ikorodu Youth Assembly to commemorate the 54th birthday anniversary of Rep. Babajimi Benson was commissioned on Monday by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Mr Olusegun Dada.
The project is sited in the Ire /Agunfoye community in Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
Comrade Olalekan Biliamin Oba, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on Social Development, who supervised the project while speaking on behalf of the youth during the commissioning thanked members of the community for their support.

He said that the initiative reflects youth’s commitment to delivering people-centered, humanitarian interventions aligned with the vision and impactful leadership of the celebrant.
While commissioning the project, Mr Olusegun Dada, SSA to the President also emphasised that youths are following the path of Rep. Benson in embarking on projects that will impact positively on the community.
“We are gathered here today to celebrate Rep. Babajimi Benson who has been providing necessary infrastructure needed by our people, but since we don’t have any money to give to him for his birthday, we decided to honour him by toeing his footpath in constructing this project.

“Six years ago, Rep. Benson made me his Personal Assistant despite the fact that he did not know me before and our paths only crossed in Abuja and six years later, he was also instrumental towards my appointment by Mr President as his aide,” he recalled.
He pledged to provide solar – powered system to power the commissioned water project and light up the road on which the water is sited.
The Presidential aide also demonstrated his commitment to grassroots empowerment when he pledged ₦100,000 financial assistance to 12 market women to boost their businesses; ₦500,000 donation to the CDA association and another ₦500,000 to the school pupils from the host community.

The host Chairman, Omoba Hammed Aroyewun thanked the Ikorodu youth for siting the project within Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA which he said would further project the council, while his Ikorodu North LCDA counterpart, Hon. Ameen Apanisile pledged donation of two more thanks for the project to be able to satisfy the entire community.
Head Girl of Nicholas Comprehensive High School who spoke during the commissioning welcomed Rep. Benson and other dignitaries to Agunfoye Community to commission the project which she said would serve the people.
