Igbogbo/Bayeku Council Leader To Engage Constuents With Eyes Screening, Soccer Competition

-Sets to give out 500 free eyes glasses

Hon Nurudeen Alimi, President of the National Councilors’ Forum of Nigeria and the Council Leader, Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has perfected plans to engage his constituents during the yuletide period with distribution of free eyes glasses and screening.

A total of 500 residents will benefit from the third phase of the exercise tagged, ‘Jigi Alimi’ in collaboration with the Life Changers Foundation, while the programme has been scheduled to be held at the Baale’s palace in Bayeku in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area, on Saturday, December 19, 2020.

Also, the final of 2nd edition the Ward C3 B.O.O.K Football Competition also sponsored by the Councilor, is scheduled to take place at the Anglican Primary School field in Offin, on Saturday, December 20, 2020.

Speaking with THE IMPACT, Hon. Alimi said that he has distributed 600 free glasses in the first and second phase of ‘Jigi Alimi’ after screening.

 “I did the first phase in June 2019 at the Baale’s palace in Offin where 350 residents benefited in the screening and distribution of free eyes glasses.

 “The second phase was held in October 2020, at the Baale’s palace in Oreta and 250 people benefitted”.

The Councilor representing Ward C3 stated that the preliminary matches of the football competition, which has 21 teams participating, has been played between October 10th and 27th, 2020, while the quarter final matches were played between November 1st and 10th.

The two semi – finals of the soccer competition were played on November 14th and 15th.

Hon. Alimi said that the football competition is part of his own ways of engaging youths in his constituency and making them productive.

The first edition of the football tournament was held in November, 2017.
