The Ijede Local Council Development Authority under the leadership of Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo – Alogba, the Executive Chairman, has announced the reintroduction of the monthly environmental exercise.
According to the council, the exercise which will commence on Saturday, April 25, 2026, will be a monthly exercise.
Recall that the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu, flagged off the reintroduction of the exercise with a directive that the exercise should be implemented across the state with a clause that there would be no restrictions against movement of people in compliance with the subsisting court ruling.

”Following the directive of the Lagos State Government, the Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, hereby informs all residents that the Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise has been reintroduced across the council area.
”The exercise will commence on Saturday, April 25, 2026, and will be held on the last Saturday of every month, from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m, ” the chairman said.
Hon. Gbadebo- Alogba, urged residents and stakeholders to ensure full participation.
”All residents are expected to come out during this period to clean their surroundings, clear drainage channels, and properly dispose of waste. Community leaders, market associations, youth groups, Community Development Associations (CDAs), and other stakeholders are encouraged to mobilise residents and ensure active participation.

”Relevant authorities will be on ground to ensure compliance. Residents are urged to cooperate and support this initiative for the good of the community.”
