-Calls for a united association

The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Shams-El-Deen Old Students’ Association has unanimously adopted the resolutions from the Peace Accord Meeting signed by all the parties on Monday, December 1st, 2025.
The resolutions were adopted at the first Congress after the peace meeting on Saturday, 21st February, 2026, held at the old school premises in Ikorodu, with further calls on members to come together and work in unity for the progress and development of the association.
About 50 members attended the meeting.
Welcoming members to the Congress, Engr. Oluwatimilehin Awe (89 Set), a member of the BoT appreciated members for the impressive turnout and described the Congress as a significant step toward consolidating the unity achieved during the Peace Accord Meeting of 1st December, 2025.

He specially accorded Mr. Babatunde Idris (88 Set) and Alhaji Murisiq Raji (88 Set) recognition as pioneer members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the school at its inception, with the Congress applauding their dedication and longstanding contributions.
Alhaji Murisiq Raji (BoT Chairman; 88 Set), thanked members for their large turnout. He encouraged punctuality, commitment, and dedication to the affairs of the Association. He further charged members to join hands with the Board of Trustees in delivering on the mandates outlined in the Resolution of 1st December, 2025.
He informed the Congress that action is already in place to register the new name of the Association with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), adding that a Constitution Drafting Committee has been set up and is currently working on producing a unified and actionable constitution for the association.

He also addressed the issue of the Association’s frozen bank account which was raised at the Congress, with resolution by members to take appropriate and lawful steps to ensure the re-activation of the frozen account.
Also speaking, Mr. Toyosi Bello (95 Set & BoT Member), Hon. Yinka Majekodunmi (Chairman, 91/92 Set) and Mr. Hakeem Oresanya (93 Set & BoT Member), revisited the period of misunderstandings and factional divisions within the Association and the need for reconciliation.
They applauded the success of the Peace Accord held last year, which restored unity among members that birthed the first Congress meeting in session and emphasised the importance of sustaining unity, strengthening institutional frameworks, promoting transparency, and focusing on developmental initiatives for the school.

Members at the Congress collectively reaffirmed their commitment to unity and progress and declared the resolutions of the December Peace Accord as binding on all members of the Association.
