The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS), Education District II, Mr. Omotayo Layemo Sanni, on Wednesday, received the South-West Zonal Best Teacher, Mr. Obafemi Peter Lawal, at the District Headquarters, Maryland.
Mr Lawal, a tutor of Government at Oriwu College Senior Model College, Ikorodu, emerged the Best Teacher in South-West, Nigeria, last week.
Mr. Sanni congratulated Mr. Lawal on the well-deserved recognition, describing the award as a reflection of dedication, professionalism, and commitment to quality teaching in Lagos State. He urged the award recipient to continue to uphold the standard of excellence associated with Lagos teachers, and to remain a worthy ambassador of the District and the State.

The TG/PS further advised Mr. Lawal to make good use of the recognition by prioritising his personal and professional development, noting that continuous learning, training, and self-improvement are key to sustaining excellence in the teaching profession.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Lagos State Government, to motivating teachers and promoting excellence across public secondary schools, while encouraging other teachers in the District to emulate the exemplary conduct and performance that earned Mr. Lawal the prestigious national recognition.
Responding, Mr. Lawal appreciated the TG/PS, for his leadership and fatherly advice, pledging his continued commitment to the Lagos State Teaching Service.
