-Party Releases adjusted timetable for ward, local government, state, and zonal congresse

The National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a list of its Central Coordination Committee to man its forthcoming National Convention with Rep. Babajimi Benson, representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, as one of the committee’s members.
In a statement issued from the party’s national secretariat in Abuja and signed by Surajudeen Basiru, National Secretary of the APC, and Sulaiman Argungu, National Organising Secretary, the national working committee said the panel would oversee preparations for the 2026 convention.
His Excellency, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, CON, (Imo State), is the Chairman, Central Coordination Committee of APC National Convention 2026, while His Excellency, Alhaji AbduRahman AbdulRasaq, CON (Kwara State) is announced as the Vice Chairman, and His Excellency Hon. Mai Mala Buni, CON, (Yobe State ) will serve as the committee’s Secretary.

Other members of the committee also include serving and former governors, senators, members of the national assembly, and other party leaders drawn from across the country.
Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Senate President, HE Godswill Akpabio; Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the house of representatives; Sen Adams Oshiomole, former national chairman of the APC; and Abdullahi Ganduje, former Kano State Governor, HE Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor, Lagos State; HE Uba Sani, Governor, Kaduna State and HE Douye Diri, Bayelsa State Governor, and Hon. James Faleke are some of the names on the list.
Rep. Babajimi Benson who is the Chairman, House Committee on Defence and numbered among the few Senators and House of Representatives members on the list is on rank 63 of the 73 -man list.

According to the APC, “details of the inauguration of the central coordination committee for the 2026 national convention will be announced in due course.”
The party also released an adjusted timetable for ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses. According to the schedule, e-registration of members will run from January 31 to February 8, while ward congresses will be held on February 18.
Local government congresses are slated for February 21, with appeals to be concluded by February 23.

State congresses will take place on March 3, followed by zonal congresses across the six geopolitical zones on March 25. The APC has fixed its national convention for March 27 to March 28.
