APC Loses Grassroots Politician, Former Councillor, Hon. Kazeem Oni-Orisan “Kalokalo”

Hon. Kazeem Abayomi Oni-Orisan

The death of Hon. Kazeem Abayomi Oni-Orisan, a grassroots politician and former Councillor representing Ward A, Ikorodu Local Government, has been announced.

Oni-Orisan, who is a son of a former woman leader of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) was until his sudden death a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a strong member of the iCare Group of Rep. Babajimi Benson, representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

During his days, the late politician also worked closely with top politicians and political office holders including Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, former Governor of Osun State, Sen. Olorunnimbe Mamora, former Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly and former Senator that represented Lagos East, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, former Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, late Sen. Adebayo Oshinowo (Pepper), former member Lagos State House of Assembly and also a former Senator, Lagos East among others.

He also played a very prominent role in the last local government campaign of Comrade Japheth Akeem Odesanya for Chairmanship of Ikorodu Local Government tagged, ‘Kolujo’.

THE IMPACT gathered that the grassroots politician, who was active till a few days ago when he organised the wedding ceremony of his son last Saturday, died early today and his remains have been embalmed at the General Hospital Ikorodu.

After his son’s wedding, he also attended the birthday celebration of Mrs Wunuola Oshinowo, the Woman Leader, APC Lagos East Senatorial District on Sunday.

He died after a brief illness which we gathered started after his active engagement at the weekend which led to his being hospitalised.

According to late Oni-Orisan’s close friends, his remains will be interred on Friday in accordance with Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) doctrine after the Christian Wake – Keep on Thursday.
