The Executive Chairman of Imota Local Council Development Area, Benson Sunday Ayodele (BSA), on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, convened a strategic meeting with education administrators from all public primary schools within the LCDA, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to improving educational standards and achieving sustainable educational development across Imota.
The meeting, held at the council secretariat, formed part of the administration’s proactive approach to accelerating educational growth and ensuring accessible, inclusive, and quality education for children in Imota LCDA.
During the interactive session, school administrators highlighted priority needs in their respective schools, listed in order of importance. These include: renovation of classrooms and dilapidated buildings; installation of prepaid electricity metres; provision of functional boreholes and solar power systems; supply of office chairs and tables; installation of school gates and construction of security posts; engagement of school cleaners; provision of first aid boxes; and supply of computers and printers, among other critical needs.

Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele emphasised the urgent need to raise the quality of education in all public primary schools within the LCDA to maintain high standards and remain competitive with schools across Lagos State.
According to him, “Imota LCDA is moving into a new phase of educational advancement where learning will be easier, more effective, and more technologically driven for our children. As such, all education administrators must work closely with the local government to tackle challenges facing our schools and reduce illiteracy within our communities.”
He further stressed the importance of collective responsibility, noting that the council would continue to make deliberate and resilient efforts to address educational challenges across all public schools.

The Chairman disclosed that his administration is working closely with the Office of the Education Secretary, Ikorodu, the Council’s Education Department, and heads of schools to resolve the challenges confronting schools systematically. He urged school heads to remain patient and assured them that education remains a core pillar of his administration’s “Hi-SEE” Transformation Agenda.
Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele also encouraged school administrators to (consistently) engage the council’s Education Department to promptly report issues, stressing that the local government and schools are partners in progress.
In his remarks, the Education Secretary, Ikorodu Local Government Education Area (LGEA), Mr. Taiwo Odumbo, expressed appreciation to the Executive Chairman for his commitment to educational development. He assured that heads of schools are fully prepared to cooperate in ensuring effective management and monitoring for the benefit of pupils.

He further appealed to all school administrators to collaborate and support the vision of the chairman of the local council to foster stronger working relationships and improve educational outcomes across Imota LCDA.

(Princess) Abisoye Omowunmi Jimoh; Leader of the House, Councilor Adeshina Ademola Oluwole; Deputy Leader, Councilor Sunday Aberuagba; Majority Leader, Councilor Jelili Busayo Muhammed; Council Manager, Mr. Ayeni Olumuyiwa; Council Treasurer, Chief Onifade Oluyemi; Head of Department, Education, Ms. Olufowobi A.O; Assistant HOD Education, Mrs. Sanni I.A., and Education Officers, Mrs. Ogidan-Kazeem, Mr. Odukoya A.O., and Mr. Dadaloni O.K.

Also present were headteachers of various public primary schools, including Mrs. Ajimot Damilola Kasim from Methodist Primary School, Imota, Mrs. Olawuyi C.O. from UNA Primary School, Igbalu, Mrs. Ibikunle M. Toibat from Ansar-ur-Deen Primary School, Imota, Mrs. Aderayo Deborah Awolokun from Abejoye Primary School, Imota, Mrs. Esther Taiwo Popoola from Local Government Primary School, Imota, Mrs. Janet Olubisi Adekola from St. John Anglican Primary School, Imota, Mrs. FunmiLayo Grace Olowookere from UNA Primary School, Oke-Agbo, and Mr. Ajibola Ademola Kazeem from Community Primary School, Oriokuta
