Elepe Smart Police Station Sets for Commissioning December 22

The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, has, once again, commended the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson, for facilitating and completing the Elepe Smart Police Station which is a landmark security project in Ikorodu Division.

The security facility, which construction started this year at Elepe in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, is set for commissioning on Monday, December 22. This marks a significant milestone in strengthening of security infrastructure within the LCDA, and it is expected to strengthen the security situation in Ikorodu Division in general, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA in particular, especially the issue of kidnapping which is rampant at Igbe axis.

Aroyewun expressed deep satisfaction with the completion, quality of construction, and adherence to the original vision of the project, during his follow -up inspection on Friday.

The inspection was conducted in the company of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ikorodu Division, CSP Akinola Clement whose presence underscored the operational importance of the facility to policing and security coordination across the Ikorodu axis.

Chairman Aroyewun noted that the project represents a strategic investment in community safety and public confidence, adding that effective security remains a critical foundation for social stability, economic activity, and sustainable development.

He, again, showered glowing commendations on Rep. Benson, describing the Smart Police Station as a clear reflection of his foresight, purposeful leadership, and unwavering commitment to grassroots development.

“This project speaks volumes about the quality of representation we enjoy at the federal level,” Aroyewun stated.
“Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson has, once again, demonstrated uncommon dedication to the safety and well-being of our people. What we see here is not just a building, but a lasting investment in peace, security, and public trust”, he said.

He noted that the impressive progress recorded since his previous inspection visit on September 2, 2025, as well as the completion of the project, reflects sound planning, professional execution, and genuine concern for community safety”.

Aroyewun reaffirmed the readiness of the LCDA to continue collaborating with the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the smooth commissioning and effective utilisation of the facility.

The Smart Police Station project by the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, is designed to enhance policing efficiency through modern operational facilities, improved response capability, and smarter security architecture.
