The planned road grading exercise across the four political wards in Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA) by the administration of Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, kicked off on Thursday with the grading of Oke – Agbo Road in Ward D area of the council.
In a statement by the council’s Media and Publicity Engagement Office, the project which is part of the administration’s key infrastructural development initiative aims at easing and smoothening journeys for residents, boosting economic activities, and fulfilling some of the administration’s campaign promises to the people of Imota LCDA.
While visiting the site of the ongoing road grading, Hon. Benson, noted that the exercise is a deliberate action that would be extended to the four political wards within the council.

“This is a proactive approach to transforming the entire network of major internal roads across the four political wards of Imota LCDA.”
The Assistant Council Engineer, Chief Olugbenga Akeju, who also serves as the supervising engineer for the project, stated that the ongoing grading will help prevent perennial flooding, improve drainage and safety by removing bumps, dips, and potholes, enhance accessibility, and reduce future road damage in the communities.
The residents and stakeholders expressed gratitude to the Executive Chairman and his team for their responsiveness, noting that the intervention would make roads more motorable for residents and commuters, facilitating easier movement, and bringing relief to the people of Imota LCDA.

“The road is one of the major internal routes connecting Igbokuta with Oke-Agbo and Igbalu communities, demonstrating the BSA-led administration’s commitment to enhancing Infrastructural development and community growth.
“This intervention directly responds to the community needs identified during the assessment tour, which highlighted areas requiring urgent government attention.
