Egbe Bobaseye Obinrin of Ikorodu and the Elite Club Ikorodu have been lauded by Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo, the Education Secretary, Local Government Education Authority, Ikorodu Local Government, for their interventions in rehabilitating a block of classrooms at Muslim Primary School, and the Home Economics Centre, Ikorodu.
While Egbe Bobaseye Obinrin of Ikorodu undertook the renovation of a dilapidated block of classrooms, the Elite Club of Ikorodu embarked on the extensive upgrade of the Home Economics Centre by installing a prepaid electricity meter, reconstructed the collapsed perimeter fence, restored borehole water project, replaced damaged windows and doors, renovated the toilet facilities, and also donated gas cooker and pots among others.
His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu commissioned these projects which were rehabilitated under the auspices of the Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS) on Tuesday.
While expressing his appreciation for the intervention, Alhaji Odumbo, emphasised their critical roles in enhancing learning outcomes and promoting academic excellence.
He also lauded the Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS), through which the two clubs intervened to bring the two intervention projects back to life.
“These interventions have improved the centre’s infrastructure, ensuring a safe and functional environment for vocational training and practical learning.
“These projects stand as a testament to the power of community collaboration and the enduring value of education as a tool for societal transformation,” he said.
At the commissioning were Alhaji Fatai Kolawole Olayiwola, Chairman, IKODASS, Asiwaju Rotimi Erogbogbo, the immediate past Chairman, IKODASS, traditional chiefs and Baales among others.
