The authorities of Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have warned against any act capable of disturbing the peace of the council following the demise of the Baba Oloja of Ijede LCDA, Chief Moshood Oyebanjo on Tuesday.
In a statement by the council media unit, the Ijede LCDA condemned the looting of residents’ shops following the passage of the market leader.
The administration warned against any further disturbance and unlawful activities, adding that security agencies have been ordered to deal with anyone found breaching the peace in the community.
“The leadership of Ijede LCDA is aware of the unfortunate looting incidents that followed the recent demise of the Baba Oloja of Ijede, Chief Moshood Oyebanjo, who passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.

“”The Council, in collaboration with the traditional institution, remains fully committed to maintaining peace and order within the community.
We strongly condemn these criminal acts and caution all residents to desist from any form of stealing or destruction of properties.
“Security agencies and relevant departments have been placed on high alert, and anyone found guilty of engaging in these unlawful activities will be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
“Together, let us safeguard the peace, unity, and integrity of our community.”
