A Lagos lawmaker, representing Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. (Dr ) Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA) has charged Nigerians on the need to re-commit themselves to making the country a nation of justice, equity and opportunities.

Hon. Aro gave the charge in his Independence Day statement commemorating Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day anniversary.

“Dear Esteemed Constituents,

“Today, as our great nation marks another Independence Day, my heart is filled with gratitude and hope. Sixty-five years ago, our forebears made a bold step into freedom, carrying dreams of unity, peace, and prosperity. Though our journey has not always been easy, our resilience as a people continues to shine through every challenge.

“This day is not only a celebration of our history but also a call to renew our collective commitment to building a Nigeria where justice, equity, and opportunity thrive for all. May we draw strength from our diversity, remain steadfast in hope, and work together to leave behind a nation stronger and greater than we met it.”

“On his own, Hon. Aro used the occasion of the celebration to rededicate himself to serve his constituents better:

“As your representative, I remain deeply committed to serving you with integrity, courage, and vision —believing firmly that our tomorrow will be brighter than our today.

“Happy Independence Day, my beloved people. May God bless you, bless our constituency, and bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
