The ancient kingdom of Igbogbo, the headquarters of the Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) is set to witness another epoch event as the community is prepared to host dignitaries all over the country especially from the Islamic circle as it is set to formally coronate Sheikh AbdulGaniu Abolore Ghazali, as the Grand Chief Imam, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA and that of the Igbogbo Central Mosque, Igbogbo.
The coronation planning committee in a statement signed on Sunday by its chairman, Alhaji Chief Abdul Ganiu Olubodun, Aare Adeen, Igbogbo Central Mosque, secretary, Mr. Idris Adesina and Hon. Dauda Oshinlaja, the publicity secretary, released programme of activities for the event starting from Sunday, November 2, 2025, with a coronation public lecture by His Eminence, Fadhilat Sheikh Faruk Onikijipa, The Grand Mufti of Ilorin, Kwara State.
Recall that Sheikh AbdulGaniu Abolore Ghazali was installed on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, after the death of the former Chief Imam – Fadhilat Sheikh Dhikrullahi Abdullahi Tanimose Andu, who spent 53 years as the Chief Imam of Igbogbo.
Chieftains and members of the committee alongside the Chief Imam Igbogbo Central Mosque yesterday unveiled the Ankara fabric for the ceremony at Igbogbo Central Mosque premises.
In the statement, the committee appealed to all residents of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area, both home and abroad, to join them in the celebration and make it an historic one.
Interested members of the public are enjoined to procure their Ankara at the Igbogbo Central Mosque or at the designated shop beside Late Chief Ojoye’s House in Club 24, Igbogbo at the sum of N6000 for 6 yards.
