The federal lawmaker gave the pledged to the Local Government Education Authority team led by the Education Secretary, Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo, that paid a strategic visit to him today at his constituency office in Ikorodu.

Recall that THE IMPACT had, last week, reported the disheartening state of the school in a report titled, ‘Parents, Students Lament Lack Of Classrooms, Disturbing State Of Existing Ones At Yewa Junior School: School borrows classes from Aga Pry, Yewa Senior Schools’, a report that generated reactions across various social media platforms.

In a statement by the Education Secretary, the visit was part of his administration’s efforts to advance quality education across Ikorodu Division.

During the visit, which coincided with the quarterly stakeholders’ meeting with the three – term lawmaker, Alhaji Odumbo had the honour of addressing All Progressives Congress (APC) party faithful, during which he expressed heartfelt appreciation to party leaders and members for their support towards his emergence as Education Secretary.

He also emphasized the importance of continuous sensitization on Permanent Voters Card (PVC) registration, noting that he has actively encouraged staff, School Based Management Committees (SBMC), and Parent Forums (PF) across the division, to participate in this civic exercise.

It was during a meeting between the ES, the senior management staff of the LGEA and Rep. Benson, that Alhaji Odumbo made the passionate appeal for the intervention of the lawmaker in the infrastructural challenges facing Yewa Junior Grammar School, Ikorodu.

“A major highlight of the visit was the approval of an additional block of classrooms for Yewa Junior Grammar School, Ikorodu, by Honourable Babajimi Benson. The school, which has long operated under constrained conditions as a tenant within Aga Primary School, has faced challenges of space and resources.

“The Education Secretary, in his magnanimity, made the request for the infrastructure as he strongly believes it will provide much-needed relief and restore dignity to the learning environment for students and staff of that school.

Alhaji Odumbo noted that the request for the classroom block was made in good faith and in response to the pressing needs of Yewa Junior Grammar School.

He lauded the Honourable’s responsiveness and commitment to educational development, describing the gesture as a testament to his dedication to the future of Ikorodu’s children.
