In recognition of his exemplary service and contributions to the advancement of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, His Eminence Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, had been honoured with the award of the Grand Pillar Order of Cherubim and Seraphim (GCOCS).
The presentation of the award took place at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos on Sunday.
Baba Aladura Asiwaju Basorun who is the second – in – command in C & S Movement is also a notable political figure in Nigeria and a chieftain of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) and foremost community developer.

At the award ceremony to honour the elder statesman were Yeye (Chief) Mrs Bolanle Basorun, wife of the honoree and former Sole Administrator, Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA) representative of Ikorodu Constituency II and Omo’oba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA among others.
In a tribute to Asiwaju Basorun, Hon. Aro described the honour as a recognition of Baba Aladura’s long years of committed service and contributions to the development of the Church
“The recognition is a testament to his decades of exemplary service, faith, and uncommon contributions to the advancement of the church, community, and nation at large. The Grand Pillar Order is one of the highest honours of the Cherubim and Seraphim fold, reserved only for personalities whose lives embody leadership, integrity, and enduring impact.

“On behalf of the entire Constituency II, I extend heartfelt congratulations to our father and leader, His Eminence Asiwaju Reuben Olorunfunmi Basorun, on this remarkable honour.
“May God continue to preserve his life in good health and grant him more years of wisdom and service to humanity, ” Hon (Dr) AMA prayed.
In a separate statement, Omo’oba Hammed Aroyewun also described the award as a deserving one for the man of strong faith.
