The Executive Chairman, Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo -Alogba, had declared his administration’s firm opposition to rape, child abuse or any form of sexual and gender -based violence.
She reaffirmed her council’s stance in a statement today, commemorating the 2025 Sexual and Gender -Based Violence Awareness Month.
The year’s edition is themed, “It Concerns Us All”.
“Today, I join voices across Lagos State to stand firmly against rape, child abuse, and all forms of sexual and gender-based violence as we commemorate the 2025 Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Awareness Month.

“With this year’s theme, “It Concerns Us All,” It is our shared duty to build a safer and more supportive community where every individual is respected, valued, and protected. As a society, ending violence against women and children demands our united effort through advocacy, and access to justice.”
She said that her administration is committed to sustained public enlightenment on the issue and encouraging victims to speak up whenever they experience such abuse.
“As a government, we remain committed to intensifying public education, public campaigns, supporting survivors, and encouraging victims to speak out without fear or stigma. At Ijede LCDA, we uphold a zero-tolerance policy against rape, child abuse, and domestic violence,” she said.
