The representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson urged residents in Ikorodu to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to get their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) registration to improve on the constituency’s electoral strength in Lagos and the country at large.

Rep. Benson charged residents that are just turning 18 this year and those of age but are yet to register for PVC to ensure that they participate in the process to get registered and be eligible to vote in the forthcoming elections.

The lawmaker who is the Chairman, House Committee on Defence, made the appeal in a statement through which he appealed to residents of Ikorodu Federal Constituency who are existing voters but just relocated to Ikorodu, lost their PVCs and those with damaged PVCs, to also use the opportunity of the exercise to revalidate their PVCs and be part of making Ikorodu a force to be reckoned with politically.

“Are you a new voter? You just relocated? Or you lost your PVC? THIS IS THE TIME TO ACT. REGISTER TODAY AND ENCOURAGE OTHERS AROUND YOU TO DO THE SAME.

“Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) for the 2025/2026 electoral cycle is now OPEN. This is more than just getting a PVC – it is about strengthening our democracy, safeguarding our future, and securing Ikorodu’s rightful place as a decisive force in Lagos and Nigeria.

Rep. Benson’s PVC sensitisation

“At the last general elections, Ikorodu Federal Constituency stood tall with one of the highest voter turnouts in Lagos State. That collective strength translated into visible projects, interventions, and federal presence we are now enjoying across our division,” Rep. Benson said.

The three – term lawmaker emphasised that with more voters’ registration, Ikorodu would consolidate its voting position which has earned her infrastructural development, medical, educational and economical interventions from the federal government and also political relevance.

“But we can do even more. With more people registering and collecting their PVCs, Ikorodu can consolidate its position as a voting bloc that cannot be ignored or traded away. Our strength lies in our numbers – let’s make them count!

“Together, we can keep shaping a Greater Ikorodu and a Greater Nigeria under the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
