Honourable Commissioner for Youth, Mr Mobolaji Ogunlende, has assured of a timely completion of Igbogbo Stadium, when he visited the ongoing project at the weekend.
Ogunlende visited the stadium with the Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, Chairman, Onigbongbo LCDA, and Comrade Lekan Oba Biliamin, Senior Special Assistant to Governor among others.
The construction of the project started in 2011, and the stand, track and field have been completed.

The Commissioner said that significant progress has been made on the project and expressed his confidence that when completed, the stadium would be a valuable asset to its host community.
He pledged the administration’s commitment for its completion.
“Under the leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, we’ll continue to intensify efforts to ensure the timely completion of this project. I am committed to seeing this initiative through to its successful conclusion, and I am excited for the positive impact it will have on the people of Lagos State “.

Speaking with our reporter, Omoo’ba Aroyewun thanked the Commissioner for deeming it fit to inspect the sporting facility and also appreciative of the assurance for its timely completion.
He said that the stadium when completed would further engage and make youth in Ikorodu Division and Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA in particular productive and competitive.
Ogunlende, who was the keynote speaker at the “Mentorship Session with HOA”, an initiative of the Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA Chairman, in commemoration of the 2025 International Youth Day, was also the special guest of honour at the closing ceremony of the 8-day camp organised by The African Church Lads & Lasses Brigade, held at the Lagos State Civil Service Model Colleges, Igbogbo, where he charged the youths to uphold good character, lead with integrity, and be shining examples in their communities.
