Otuba David Ekiyoyo, former IKODASS Chairman

The death of a former Chairman, Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS), and Asiwaju of Odo – Nla, Otunba David Afolabi Ekiyoyo, DCIO, has been announced.

The late community leader and prominent Ikorodu son died on Sunday. He was 89 years old.

In a statement announcing his passing, the Ekiyoyo Royal Family, in conjunction with the Odeyemi Ofiran Ruling House of Odo-Nla and the broader Ikorodu Division, announced the peaceful passing of their patriarch.

“It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived that the Ekiyoyo Royal Family, in conjunction with the Odeyemi Ofiran Ruling House of Odo-Nla and the broader Ikorodu Division, announces the peaceful passing of our beloved patriarch and royal son of Ikorodu Kingdom”.

IKODASS, through its executives, mourning the passage of Otunba Ekiyoyo, said that the late Otunba Ekiyoyo passed on after a brief illness.

“With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of one of our highly respected Elders and a Past Chairman of IKODASS, Otunba D.A. Ekiyoyo, DCIO, who passed away last night after a brief illness.

“This news came to us as a shock. Otunba Ekiyoyo was a man of vision, humility, and unwavering commitment to community development. His leadership and contributions to IKODASS and Ikorodu at large will never be forgotten.

“On behalf of IKODASS and all members of the Executive Council, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire Ekiyoyo Family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time.

“May Almighty God grant him eternal rest and comfort the family he left behind.

“Rest in peace, Otunba. Your legacy remains with us”.

Otunba Ekiyoyo was Bobajiro of Ikorodu Land, Otunba Olasubomi Yiloro of Agbowa Ikosi Land, Asiwaju of Odo-Nla, Olootu Omo-Oba (Meta), Odeyemi Ofiran Ruling House, Member, Eminent Persons of Ikorodu Division, Former Chairman, Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS) (2005–2009), Co-founder, Ikorodu Division Community Bank, Former President, Prestige Social Circle, and Trustee, The Exclusives Club.
