Aroyewun Polls 15, 051 Votes, Declared Winner Of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA’s Chairmanship Election

Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA Chairman – elect, voting at his poling unit 009 in Igbogbo on Saturday.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship candidate in the 2025 Local Government Elections in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), has won his election with a landslide as he predicted while voting on Saturday.

Aroyewun polled 15, 051 votes which is unprecedented votes in the history of the Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA.

The candidate voted at the polling unit 009 Yewa/Odofin junction, where he won other parties convincingly.

He was declared winner of the council election at the Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA secretariat at 10.32pm by the Returning Officer for the election, Arimoro Priscilla Oluwakanyinsola.

The PDP Candidate, Liadi Kazeem Olawale, scored 341 votes.

Other APC candidates announced as winners of the councilorship elections in various wards in the council are – Hon. Basirat Adetutu Banjoko, C1, Hon. Akeem Solawon, C2, Hon. Saidat Adeyemi Adeoba, C3, Hon. Yusuf Olalekan Bello, C4 and Hon. Adekunle Anifowoshe, C5.

Meanwhile, in a phone interview with the PDP Chairmanship candidate, Liadi Olawale, before the commencement of the collation of votes in Igbogbo, he alleged that the ruling party used money to induce the electorate.

“I give thanks to God, despite the fact that the ruling party, APC, was using their money to convince the people, and not allowing them to vote for whom they had in mind.

“Although, there was no issues during the exercise.

When asked about his expectations, the PDP candidate said: “There’s nothing special that’s going to happen because we already know the logic. So, we are not expecting anything” .

While stating that APC has advantage over his own party, the candidate also have some words for the electorate.

“There’s nothing that I have to say to the government because it involves the people and they are aware of what they want, but I don’t think that the people know what they want yet”, he said.
