Following his declaration as the winner of the Chairmanship election in Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Ameen Olawale Ibrahim Apanisile, has emerged as the Chairman – elect.
Apanisile, who served as Vice Chairman of the council for eight years, will now administer Ikorodu North LCDA in substantive capacity after his inauguration in the next few days alongside Hon. Mathew Alliu Adesanya who was elected on the same ticket with him as the Vice Chairman.

The result was declared at the Ikorodu North LCDA secretariat in Isiu, by the Returning Officer.
The APC candidate polled 13, 844 votes to win the 2025 LG elections, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 537 votes, Accord 111 votes and the Labour Party (LP) 679 votes.
APC candidates also won the entire Councillorship seats in the council with Hon Idris Liasu, Hon Risikat Ibrahim Olobi, Hon Oluwaseyi Onabajo and Hon Babatunde Banjoko emerging as Councilors – elect.

Meanwhile, Dr. Hon.) Oladeji Oluniyi Akinola, the Labour Party Chairmanship candidate, Ikorodu North LCDA, speaking with THE IMPACT after the election on Saturday, alleged intimidation of voters by the ruling party.
“I observed intimidation. They intimidated some of the voters, but some areas were very peaceful.
“They scared away voters from performing their civic responsibilities and some polling unit were not that friendly.

When asked about his expectations, he responded: “I can’t say”.
However, our reporter gathered that the elections were generally peaceful across the council.
