Comrade Olalekan Biliamin Oba, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Lagos State on Social Development, has charged youth and the entire residents of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) to vote Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the council chairman in the Saturday, July 12 Elections.

Oba, who said that the candidate is tested and trusted as a fit candidate for any public office, also assured the electorate that Aroyewun would sustain his good character and quality in office.

He assured the Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA’s electorate at the largest meeting of youth groups in the council hosted by Aroyewun at the Megalite Event Centre, Igbogbo, on Monday, as part of his strategic engagement with stakeholders.

The Governor’s aide also canvassed for other candidates in the platform of the APC.

“The reason that we are all here is simple. We are here for Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun. So, on Saturday, let’s use our vote to speak in Igbogbo, Ibeshe and every nook and cranny of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. Let it be clear that we say yes with our votes for Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun.

“The reason for this is undisputable. I don’t think that I have attended any fora like this before the election. This is the first time that I have witnessed a forum that is bringing young people together before the election to say yes to a particular candidate.

“This is a sign that in the next four years, truly and indeed, it will be a glorious path for Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA,” he said.

He emphasised the need for residents of the council to vote massively in electing Aroyewun.

“Why we are also pleading and canvassing for your votes is not just for our candidate to just win, but we want him to win with massive votes. We want him to record historic votes.

“I always tell my contemporaries that it is good that we should always put our best forward for any position and that we must check their antecedents.

“HOA is not just trying to play nice and be good to the people because of an election. He is not just supporting youth programmes and he is not just getting involved in community building.

“He has been like this all the while. His antecedents speak to the fact that with or without any office, he is a good person that has love for his people.

“So, all the fear that once people get into an office they usually change does not apply to him. He has been a good person and he will continually be good to his people,” Olalekan Oba said.

He reiterated the need for residents to come out on Saturday to vote:

“In addition, I am pleading that we should not just assume that we have won the election even before the actual date.

“We don’t want voters’ apathy at all. We want everybody with voters’ card to vote for APC on Saturday.

“That’s the only reason and way that you use to challenge him tomorrow that you voted for him.

“I am begging you all to come out en mass on Saturday and vote for one man who represents greatness, ideology, fairness, integrity, honesty and who has what it takes to get to the next level and that is because he understands your yearnings and he will deliver 100%.

“You should all vote for all the APC candidates,” Oba charged.
