The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu North Local Council Development Areas (LCDA) has been assured of massive support by the leadership of the various tribes residing in the council, in the forthcoming July 12 Local Government Elections.

The assurances were given when the Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Ameen Olawale Ibrahim (Apanisile), and Vice Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Mathew Adesanya, led the APC Local Organising team to meet with the South – South, Arewa, Ndigbo and North Central communities in Ikorodu North LCDA, as part of the campaign outreach.

In a statement by the APA -MATH campaign team, the meeting was also described as a way of fostering unity, cultural integration, and mutual cooperation among residents regardless of their ethnicity or origin.

The meeting took place at the LASTMA office along Ikorodu – Shagamu Road.

The Director General of the APA-MATH Campaign Organisation, Hon.Wale Olowolagba, in his address acknowledged the immense contributions of these communities to the socio-economic development of Ikorodu North, and assured them of equitable representation and inclusive governance.

State Chairman of the South-South People’s United Forum, Engr. (Otunba) Isaac Emiyede, urged leaders of the various ethnic groups to mobilize and canvass support for APC candidates. He emphasized the need for the incoming administration to recognize and collaborate with the leaders of various nationalities.

The leaders of the groups took turn to reaffirm their unwavering support and commitment to the success of APC in the upcoming July 12 local government elections.

Community leaders present expressed gratitude for the outreach and praised the APA-MATH team’s humility, openness and readiness to serve.

In his response, Hon. Apanishile appreciated the various nationalities for defying the rain to honour the invitation. He reiterated his commitment to inclusive governance, acknowledging the importance of every resident of Ikorodu.

He pledged to run an administration that listens, engages and responds to the needs of all communities.

“We are going to run a government that works for everyone regardless of background, language, or tribe. We seek your prayers, your support, and your partnership in this journey”, he said.

Thereafter, the campaign team visited the Plank Sellers Association, during which the DG emphasized the significance of the visit and sought the association’s support for the upcoming election.

Alhaji Abubakar Olowo, Chairman of Igidowo Market Association, thanked the team for honoring their invitation.

He lamented the recurring flooding in the market and requested support in the areas of drainage construction and solar power system in the market.

Also speaking, the Iyaloja, Mrs. Onokoya Abimbola, emphasised the call for the candidate’s intervention in the construction of drainage system and provision of solar light in the market.

The Chairmanship candidate expressed gratitude for the warm reception by the traders, and promised to facilitate the construction of a proper drainage and address other pressing concerns raised by the market community.
