APC Candidates In Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA Meet Olowu Group, Seek Full Support Towards Elections

The entire candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) are not resting on their oars at all in their determination to achieve resounding success in the coming Local government elections as the team, under the Directorship General of Hon. Gbenga Oshin, has continued its meetings with critical groups, both within and outside the ruling for party, to shore up support for their candidacy.

It was the turn of the Olowu Group of The Mandate Movement (TMM) last Friday, as the campaign DG, led the Chairmanship candidate, Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), his running mate, Barr. Ade Ayeni and the five Councilorship candidates, to meet familiarize and solicit for the support of the important arm of the ruling party, as well as mobilise and canvassing for their votes.

Hon. Oshin did not mince words in his presentation when he introduced the candidates as children of the Olowu Group. He pleaded for the group’s continuous support in achieving massive votes in the coming elections.

“These are your children, no introductions are needed. We know them, we trust them, and we are here to formally seek your continued support as we approach the elections”, the campaign DG stated emphatically.

He also thanked the TMM for its unwavering support, guidance and encouragement, while noting that the flag – off of the official campaign will be announced soon.

Hon. Adewale Bolowotan, the Chief of Staff to the outgoing Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA and Supervisor for Civic Engagement, speaking, called for full reconciliation among party members, urging everyone to put the primary elections behind and unite as one family.

He assured the candidates of the group’s full support towards the elections.

“We assure you of our votes, and our members will surely support you because we are one”, he affirmed.

Mr. Babatunde Afuwape, also speaking, charged the APC Chairmanship candidate, Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), to prioritize infrastructure and inclusive governance by involving key stakeholders in decision making.

Hon. Salisu Iyabo, a former Councilor of Ward C2, speaking on behalf of the women’s wing of the group, called for greater opportunities and inclusion of women in governance and party’s activities.

A former Vice Chairman of the council, Hon. Titilayo Adegboyega, advised the campaign team to ensure at least 70% party involvement in its campaign activities, compared to that of the volunteers, to secure a solid win at the polls.

Mr. Hakeem Shodeinde, the youth leader, pledged the full support of the youth constituency, while appealing for campaign souvenirs to aid mobilization efforts.

TMM Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Alhaji Jamiu Atobajaiye Benson, warmly welcomed the candidates and assured them of total support.

“Regardless of this visit, we are APC and our votes are already with you. We only call for unity.”

He expressed gratitude and pledged total support to the campaign.

Alhaji Sefiu Ogunyemi, Leader of the Group, appreciated the candidates and echoed the call for peace and unity within the APC family, urging everyone to work together for a resounding victory.

Princess Saidat Adeoba, Councillorship candidate for Ward C3, also pledged her loyalty and diligence to the group, while requesting their support.

Vice Chairmanship candidate, Barr. Adesanya Ayeni, who is also a member of The Mandate Movement, extended his appreciation for the support received during the primaries, and requested for continous backing towards the general elections.

In his remarks, the APC Chairmanship candidate in the council, Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), stated that he was with his family and emphasised that he will not make any promise that he would not be able to fulfill.

However, Aroyewun assured the leaders and members of the TMM of inclusive government and development that everyone would be proud of if elected into the office.

“This is my home, and I will never make promises I won’t fulfill. We will witness true dividends of democracy during our tenure.

“The primaries are behind us, we must now unite and move forward. Massive voters’ turnout during past general elections brought visible development to our community. Let us do it again to attract more votes and that would bring more projects.

“My programs will cut across the LCDA, because I am your son, and this is our shared future,” Aroyewun said.

Also, at the meeting were Mrs. Esther Obayomi (Iya FORUM), Mr. Bolowotan, Mr. Ashifa (TMM Secretary), Mr. Kunle Soberu (Ward C1), Mr. Daisi Omotayo (Ward C2), Mr. Adeleke Soberu, Alh. Rasheed Kuti, Mr. Adeyemi Ogunlewe, Mr. Lukman Awolesi, Mr. Sunday Obayomi, Lion Tunde Okusanya, among others.
