The Chairmanship candidate of Labour Party (LP) in Ikorodu Local Government, Qs. Abdulazeez Adekunle Awesu, has felicitated and congratulated Muslims globally especially those in Ikorodu on the celebration of this year’s Eid – El – Mubarak.
While describing the season as a period that we have to extend love, kindness and sacrifice to others, Awesu also charged residents to renew their faith in God and trust him and his party with their mandate in the forthcoming Local Government elections.
He expressed the foregoing in a statement commemorating the 2025 Eid Mubarak Celebration.
“On this blessed occasion of Eid – El – Mubarak, I extend my warmest greetings and best wishes to all our Muslim brothers and sisters globally, especially the great people of Ikorodu Local Government.
”This is a time to reflect, appreciate God and renew our faith. It reminds us of the deep sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim (AS), who was ready to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah. His obedience made Allah to show him mercy and love by replacing his son with a ram. That is the reason we kill ram in celebration till date.
“Let us show love, kindness and compassion to others, especially those that are less privileged. Let us renew our faith in God and ensure that we promote unity, cooperation and work towards peace at all times.”
Awesu also pleaded with residents of Ikorodu to trust him and his party with their mandate which he promised would bring about renewal of everything good.
“As we celebrate and show love during the Eid Mubarak, let me remind you of the task ahead of us and to prepare ourselves for a change.
“I want you to to trust me with your mandate in the forthcoming council elections by voting me as your Chairman.
“I pledge to use the office to advance progress in Ikorodu; give residents a good governance and participatory system.
“So, I urge you all to come out in your large numbers on July 12, to vote for me and my party, LP, for transformation of Ikorodu,” Kunle Awesu pleaded.
The Quantity Surveyor and philanthropist concluded by greeting the people, “Once again, Eid Mubarak to you all.”
