The Chairman, Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Kamal Bayeku, has emphasised the importance of professionalism in the service.
Hon. Bayewu, who also demanded greater efficiency from the workers, gave the charge during a working visit to Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA) on Friday, alongside Commissioners representing the five Divisions of the state, Permanent Secretaries and Directors in the commission.
He commended the Chairman, Ijede Council Development Area (LCDA), for her efforts in improving the welfare of staff of the council.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Ijede LCDA Chairman, Gbolahan Rafiu Omotosho, in a statement on Friday, said that the purpose of the visit was to carry out an oversight function focused on staff welfare, deployment, promotion and discipline.
Hon. Bayewu emphasised the importance of professionalism in civil service, particularly in terms of appearance and dress code. He also commended the council chairman for her dedication to staff welfare and urged all council staff to demonstrate greater efficiency and diligence in the discharge of their duties.

In her remarks, Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba expressed appreciation for the commission’s visit and assured the commission that her administration will continue to make staff welfare a priority.
“I welcome the commission chairman, his team, the management team and council staff. I assure you that I will continue to prioritize staff welfare and improve working conditions, and I look forward to more support from the commission”, she stated.

Ijede LCDA Council Manager, Mrs Ayodele-Michael Oluwakemi, commended the commission for its leadership in policy formulation and service delivery.
She also acknowledged the efforts of the council chairman and management team, highlighting recent achievements such as the procurement of a staff bus, the construction of a staff canteen and sick bay, and various human capacity development initiatives.

Meanwhile, the commission also visited other council areas in lkorodu division, including Ikorodu Central Local Government where the team met with the outgoing council chairman, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina.
