LASUSTECH Student Receives Gani Adams Scholarship Award

Shakiru Oluwagbafunmi Samuel, a Mass Communication student at Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), has been awarded a scholarship worth N300,000 by the Gani Adam’s Foundation Scholarship Scheme.

The award ceremony took place on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at the Whitestone Event Center in Oregun, Lagos State, as part of Gani Adam’s 55th birthday celebration.

Speaking, Iba Gani Adams, the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland expressed that his foundation annually awards scholarships to deserving students from five tertiary institutions in Southwest Nigeria as part of his birthday celebrations.

Shakiru expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the the celebrant, the scholarship committee and the Vice Chancellor for the opportunity.

“I am truly honoured by this award. My utmost appreciation goes to Almighty God, the Gani Adam’s Foundation, and the celebrant for this great recognition. I advise other students to remain committed to their endeavours. I also congratulate the award recipients from other institutions,” he said.

The scholarship recipients were selected from five institutions, including: Lagos State University (LASU), University of Lagos (UNILAG), Ekiti State University (EKSU), Adeyemi College of Education (ACOED), Ondo, and Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH).

This recognition highlights the foundation’s commitment to supporting education and empowering students in Southwest Nigeria.
