Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), member, Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency II, has, once again, come to the aid of his constituents by donating a brand -new transformer to rescue them from their electricity supply challenges.
This time around, it is the residents of Horizon Estate, located at Olawale Okunowo Street, Fawole Bus Stop, Igbogbo, that benefitted from the performing lawmaker’s good gesture as the new transformer was delivered on Saturday.
The Media Director/Personal Assistant to Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun, Razaq Kabiru Babatunde, in a statement, said that his principal had, in 2018, provided the community a transformer which developed a major fault in 2024, and could not be repaired despite several attempts, thereby, plunging the community into a prolonged darkness and consequently causing significant inconvenience to the residents.
“After months of back and forth without a resolution, Hon. AMA intervened decisively, purchasing and delivering a new transformer to the community on Saturday, May 10, 2025″.
He said that at the delivery of the transformer, residents expressed profound appreciation to the lawmaker for his swift intervention and consistent dedication to the well-being of the community.
Community leaders and residents expressed their gratitude, noting that the new transformer would restore stable power supply and alleviate the challenges they have been facing since the previous transformer broke down.
Speaking on the intervention, Pastor Bamidele Omole expressed his profound appreciation for the lawmaker’s swift response.
“Hon. AMA has once again proven himself as a leader who listens and takes action. We have made several appeals, and he has responded in a timely and impactful manner”, he stated.
Similarly, Oludare Fate, a resident, acknowledged the significance of the new transformer in restoring normalcy to the estate.
“This is not the first time Hon. AMA is coming to our aid, and it certainly won’t be the last. He has always stood by us, and we thank him for this vital support”, he noted.
Alhaji Dallas, another resident, also lauded the intervention as a testament to the lawmaker’s commitment to his people.
“It was a tough period for us, but thanks to Hon. AMA, we can now look forward to a stable power supply. We are deeply grateful”,
he said.
Hon. AMA reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that essential infrastructure in his constituency is maintained and upgraded when necessary.
“My primary responsibility is to ensure that the needs of my people are met. The transformer issue has caused undue hardship, and I could not stand by and watch the community suffer. This is part of my promise to always prioritize the welfare of my constituents”,6⁶ he stated.
The gesture is the latest in a series of impactful interventions by Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun, who has been widely lauded for his commitment to infrastructural development and community support in Igbogbo and other areas within his constituency.
