At the screening venue, one of the aspirants, Amodu Taofeek Olorunjedalo, stepped down for the incumbent Ward D Councilor, Hon. Sotomiwa Wasiu Babatunde, to reduced Ward D councillorship aspirants to two.
Hon. Wasiu Babatunde Sotomiwa, Majority Leader, Ikorodu Local Government and Councilor representing Ward D, described the screening as a good one.
“The screening was great. Those that came to screen us are very good at it and the whole process was perfect”.

Arch. Mojid Kara Oluwaseun, who is aspiring to represent Ward D (Itunpate/Itunmoja), and now the only aspirant willing to unseat the incumbent, also lauded the screening.
“I am so happy to be here today, and so happy to pass through this screening.
“The screening is very good and needed. It is a process one has to pass through because it’s one of the duties of the party to know those who are coming out to aspire for positions, and what they are coming out for or their intentions for the party.

“We are all out for one goal which is the development of the party, its circulation and victory at the elections, starting from grassroots which is the councillorship position.
“This is very key to be done and to be able to represent our people with our might, strength and with our connections, no matter what it is under the rain or in the sun, you should be able to do the needful”, he said.
Speaking on his expectation, he declared:
“My expectation is graces; victory, and with God, that I am serving, victory is ascertain”.

Onafowokan Oluwatobi Joseph, who vying to represent Aga/Ijomu (Ward E) Ikorodu Central, in his own assessment, described the process as free and fair.
“The screening was a very free and fair one. The panelists are all friendly with us. They asked us different questions that pertain to our ward, not outside our ward, and I answered them correctly.
“I believe that I have tried my best and I leave the rest to God Almighty”, he said.
The screening continues today with seven aspirants from Ward F and G, at the APC secretariat in Ikorodu.
