17th Ikorodu NBA Annual Public Lecture Examines LG Autonomy

-As Law Reform Symposium holds Wednesday

The 2025 Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Ikorodu Chapter’s Law Week will examine the much talked about Local Government Autonomy with a critical focus.

This year’s edition of the annual lecture named after the former President of the NBA, Asiwaju Babatunde Olusola Benson, SAN, KJW, LLD, holding on Tuesday, April 29, is the 17th since its commencement and the topic is “Local Government Autonomy in Nigeria: Myth or A Reality?”

It will hold at the Peakstone Event Centre, Lagos Road, Ikorodu.

The law week which kicked off last Friday is themed: “Through The Bar: Inspiring Change, Embracing Growth”

The Law Reform Symposium which is another major feature of this year’s activities commemorating the NBA Ikorodu Law Week holds Wednesday, April 30, at The Exclusives, Ita – Elewa, Ikorodu. The programme is slated for 10:00 am.

NBA Law Dinner, which is the final event for this year is scheduled for May 1, holds at the Peakstone Event Centre, Lagos Road, Ikorodu, on Thursday, May 1.

Meanwhile, the association held its Press Conference and Jumat Service last Friday to kick – off the celebration. This was followed by Medical Outreach and Variety Night & Cocktail. There was also the Thanksgiving Service at Church and Human Rights Awareness Walk and Human Rights Seminar.
