Following the agreement by the apex leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) last weekend, the Justice Forum (JF) of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, has presented Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA) as its candidate.

With the presentation and general approval, the aspirant is now technically the candidate of the APC in the forthcoming Local Government elections.

Recall that HOA emerged as the most preferred of all the aspirants vying on the platform of the JF after the shadow primary elections conducted about two months ago. He also emerged as the consensus candidate of all the APC stakeholders in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA.

A chieftain of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), and former Secretary to the Lagos State Government (SSG), Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, presented the candidate at the general meeting of the JF on Friday held at his country home in Igbogbo, the permanent venue of the meeting, to a wild jubilation of acceptance by hundreds of party members present at the meeting.

Speaking, Asiwaju Basorun informed the gathering that the JF of which he is the de facto leader in Igbogbo/ Baiyeku LCDA has been agreed upon to produce the next candidate for the party.

After his announcement, he and the Chairman, JF Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Alhaji Andullahi Olawale (Bobomi) raised Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun’s hands as the flag bearer of the party.

Alhaji Andullahi also speaking, lauded members of the group for their resilience and steadfastness.

He described HOA as a worthy and responsible candidate and ambassador who will not disappoint the group, party and Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.

In his remarks, Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA) was full of appreciation and commendations for the leadership of the JF and members.

He assured them that he would make his administration as chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA one that they have never seen before in terms of performance.

“I want to thank you all for your support and I want you to thank God on my behalf, as well as thank yourself and in the same vein, jointly thank our leader, Baba Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, who deemed it fit to remember yesterday, take a critical look at the present and also look into the future to make his decision.

“In looking at the past, Baba considered our father’s contribution to this great community and for today, it is our own efforts in developing Igbogbo and our great party that were his considerations and finally, Baba sees us as the future of this great town and our dear party.

“In addition, I want everyone here to help me thank Alhaji Bobomi. I have good reasons for requesting that from you. My father himself, if alive would not have done more than Alhaji Bobomi has done for me.

HOA addressing members of the party

He was insulted and harassed because of me and at a point, I asked why this man kept defending and standing for me?

“I want to assure you, Alhaji Bobomi, you will have reasons to thank God for my administration in Igbogbo. I will make you and everyone proud.

“I thank all our mothers and look at your support and cooperation, I have been praying that God will give me the capacity to make you laugh and regret not to have experienced my administration before now.

“Let me assure you our mothers, ‘E lo fokan ba le’ (relax your nerves because good times are coming to Igbogbo).

“I have my mother among you and I can assure you that you will all be comforted just like my mother who is with you.

“Also, to you our fathers, you will have reasons to celebrate with us, that you have a good son as chairman. I thank you greatly.

‘E lo fokan yin ba le’. We will ensure that you have your appropriate place in our government and nobody can deny you of that.”

HOA addressing the youth assured them that this is their time.

“Up youth! This is our time and you all know it.”

He called on Justice Forum members to let go of politicking and not to hate anybody for all that has happened:

“All that has happened were in the nature of politics. I want to enjoin you not to take anybody as an enemy because of it. Embrace everyone because we are members of the same party and we must win together without leaving anybody out.

We don’t need any more crisis and troubles, rather, we want cooperation, harmony and support across board.”

Also at the meeting were Mrs.Yemi Sanni, Mrs Badmus, JF woman leader, Mrs.Dawodu, Mr Kabiru Adekoya, new secretary of the group and Mr Dauda Oshilaja, a Supervisor, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA.
