In compliance with the principles of the Easter Celebration, the Rock of Ages, one of the societies at the Patriarch Bolaji Methodist Cathedral, Itaelewa Ikorodu, supported 30 aged men and women with N.6million, in commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ as celebrated globally on Sunday and Monday.

Each of the senior citizens were given N20, 000 each.

Bishop of Ikorodu Diocese, Rt. Rev’d Dr. Samson Olukayode Osundina, JP., at the Patriarch Bolaji Methodist Cathedral during the Easter service delivered the sermon titled, “The Certificate of Resurrection.”

He admonished the congregation to have a personal connection with the Lord that has risen and charged them on the need to know Christ personally,

He also charged members that have not accepted Jesus Christ to act in time before it’s too late.

The President of the Rock of Ages, Engr. Femi Onafowokan, represented by Sir Wole Odulate and other members of the society presented the money to selected beneficiaries during the service.

Some other members of the Church also shared different goodies to mark the Easter celebration.

Speaking with the Church Secretary, Mr Abolaji Oluwaseun Elesho, THE IMPACT was told that the gesture by the society was done in commemoration of Easter which is a season of showing love to others as Christ did to mankind.

He added that such caring act would also serve as an encouragement and motivation to other societies and individuals to also see the need to give to the less privileged and assist others.

He said the gesture by the Rock of Ages Society is the sixth time that the Church and other societies are supporting other members with cash in recent times.
