The Executive Chairman, Ikorodu West LCDA, Hon. (Otunba) Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju FCA, FCTI., has cleared the air over the controversies being generated by the construction of the Asolo/Agbede road in the council.

Hon. Sulaimon, who said that the road is an important one, explained that the council is partnering with the representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson, in constructing the road.

There were controversies at the Asolo/Agbede area during week between the residents of the area and the council, due to misinformation which has now been dispelled by the council.

The council boss, in a statement today, titled, ‘Asolo-Agbede Road Project: Setting the Record Straight’, said that the council will be constructing 315km of the road, while Hon. Benson, who has facilitated many roads across the six council areas in Ikorodu division, will continue from where the council stops.

THE IMPACT gathered that the federal lawmaker will be constructing about 1.5km additional section of the road.

“There has been some confusion in the media space about the Asolo-Agbede road project in Ward D, Ikorodu West LCDA. I want to take a moment to clear things up”, Hon. Sulaimon said.

“The Asolo- Agbede road is one of the roads that are very important to our community, and everyone agrees it needs to be built.

“Recall that my predecessor mooted the idea of kicking off the construction of this road, but was unable to do so, due to some circumstances beyond her control. What the SKO-ISHEOYI has done is to remove all known bottlenecks holding up this project. And now, we are ready to commence work on the road”, he said on his efforts so far.

Hon. Sulaimon explained that the council has perfected necessary arrangement for the contractor to move to site, and that once the 315meters is completed, Hon. Benson will kick – off his part of the road project in fulfilment of his promise to his constituents.

“We’ve already made arrangements for the construction of the 315 meters of the road. All necessary approvals have been secured with the preferred contractor who is ready to move to site to commence work”, the council boss explained.

“Our tireless working representative, Hon. Babajimi Benson, graciously promised to continue the road from where we will stop.

“Due to the importance of this project, the ‘SKO-ISHEOYI’ team decided to take action and get things started. So, we’re all working together to make this project a reality for our community”.

The council boss pleaded with members of the public to always get adequate information on the council’s activities before sharing unsubstantiated information online.

To encourage openness and better interaction, Hon. Sulaimon provided a telephone line through which concerned members of the public can reach him to ask questions or seek information about Ikorodu West LCDA.

“Now, it’s important to get the facts before sharing information online. Misinformation can confuse and slow down progress. If you’re unsure about something, please ask!”, he charged.

“If you have questions about anything related to Ikorodu West LCDA governance, you can reach the ‘SKO Media Team’ on mobile at +234-817-539-1111 (Chats Only). We’re here to help!

“When we work together and communicate clearly, we can achieve great things for Ikorodu West. Let’s keep moving forward!”.
