Guinness World Record: Ayangbure Congratulates Proud Son Of Ikorodu, Chess Master Tunde Onakoya

-To host the world champion, bestow honour on him

The newest Guinness Book of World Record inductee and Chess Master, Tunde Onakoya, has received a royal congratulation from the highly revered royal father of his home town, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, His Royal Majesty, (Oba) Engr. Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Adegorushen V, on his longest hour of playing Chess feat.

Chess Master Onakoya achieved the feat at the Times Square, New York, United States of America (USA), where he broke the world record for the Longest Chess Marathon after playing for about 60 hours unbeaten.

In a statement released on behalf of the Ayangbure palace by Otunba Ayodele Elesho, the Agba Akin of lkorodu, it was also revealed that the palace and other notable bodies in Ikorodu would host Tunde Onakoya to a royal reception whenever he is back in the country.

“His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom, on behalf of himself and the entire good people of Ikorodu Kingdom, are extremely happy for the World Class feat and attainment by a 29 year-old proud resident of IKORODU, Mr Tunde Onakoya who is extremely passionate about lkorodu Kingdom”, the statement said.

“To break the Guinness World record and become the World Chess Master, this great Ikorodu “BOY” recorded unmatched 60 long hours unbeatable Chess marathon playing in New York City’s Time Square, USA.

“Tunde Onakoya, we are proud of this your great achievement, while praying for more successes for you in this game and in all your other endeavours in life.

“I wish to place on record that the Ayangbure Palace, in conjunction with other progressive organisations in lkorodu Kingdom, will host you to a reception on your return to the country, while discussions are already on-going to honour you with the appropriate IKORODU OGA AWARD.
“Congratulations, our dear son and Pride”.
