Lagos Senate Caucus Visits First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Assures Senate’s Commitment On Fight Against Insecurity

Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA (Lagos East), on Thursday, led distinguished Senators from Lagos State, on a visit to the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, at the State Villa in Abuja.

Other Senators at the visit, according to a statement issued today by the media aide to Senator Abiru, were Senators Wasiu Eshinlokun (Lagos Central) and Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule.

Abiru, who was few days ago elected as the Chairman of the Southern Senators’ Forum, addressing journalists, assured Nigerians that the reforms of President  Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, are on course to put the nation on a solid footing of economic wellbeing and lasting prosperity.

He said that  the economic hardship being experienced by Nigerians, are largely caused by wrong policy choices of past administrations, which the current government is trying to correct.

While responding to the First Lady, Senator Abiru assured that the Senate would continue to look into people’s centered legislation, especially as it regards the economy and security.

He expressed optimism that the nation would soon be an economic haven.

First Lady Tinubu, speaking during the visit, appealed to the lawmakers to lead the process in enacting security related laws to stem the tide of crime in the country.

She urged Nigerians to exercise patience with the President in his quest at ensuring that Nigeria returns to the path of sustainable growth and development.

“The administration of President Bola Tinubu is resolute to leave a legacy for generations yet unborn. This takes a lot of sacrifice and courage,” she said.
