Orphanage homes in Ikorodu Division area of Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria and other parts of the state, have made passionate appeal to the members of the public, corporate bodies and groups to come to their aid and assist them with some of their needs.
According to them, these needs are essential to give children in various homes comfort and improve their living conditions.
The appeal was made by Eight Orphanage Homes – Divine Heritage Children Centre, Hikanos Orphanage, Child Lifeline Orphanage, Only God Charity Home, Tunji Adebayo Foundation, Lofty Skills Academy, Love Home Orphanage and Heritage Homes Orphanage, at the 8th edition of the GLOWFUX Charity Concert 2023, held at the Dan & Den, Elegushi Private Beach, Lagos, on Thursday, December 28, 2023.
The charity concert, organised annually by the FANAFILLIT Integrated Concepts, provides children at orphanage homes to interact with other children and their parents invited to donate, support and identify with the homes.
Gift items received from individuals, corporate bodies and organisations are usually distributed among the homes.
At this year’s charity concert were children and coordinators from some of the homes, while others were unable to attend due to financial challenges.
Speaking with THE IMPACT, Mr Olubode Mac. Oserinde, Team Lead, Fanafillit Integrated Concepts, initiator of GLOWFUX Charity Concert, appeal to members of the public to intervene by assisting to provide the needs of the charity homes on the GLOWFUX list.
Oserinde, who also charged members of the public on the need to embrace the concept of adopting a child from the orphanage homes as a way of showing them comfort and love, also charged that organisations and privileged individuals should make it a duty by donating food, clothings and other items to these homes.
He expressed regret that some of the homes were unable to attend the concert due to financial challenges, a situation he said necessitated the appeal for support for the orphanage homes.
