How SAIL Innovation Hub Transforms 4, 313 Youths, Others In 20 Months

The management of the SAIL Innovation Lab has stated that it has empowered and transformed 4, 313 youths and teachers in the last 20 months, thereby, preparing them to unleash their potentials in the Nigeria and global space.

The lab, which is an initiative of the Senator representing the Lagos East Senatorial District, Sen. Mikhail Tokunbo Abiru, FCA, has been training students in secondary school, tertiary institution and other professionals in ICT and empowering them to be competitive and have edge in the labour management.

SAIL is situated at I, Muba Abiru Street, Ebute, Ipakodo, Ikorodu, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria.

According to SAIL on its social media handle on Monday, 112 Tech Talents have graduated, 2,531 Teachers & Creatives trained, 439 STEM Students Inspired and 106 Tech Talents & AI (Artificial Intelligence) jobs created in the last 20 months of the SAIL Innovation Lab existence.

“Sail Innovation Lab has been at the forefront of nurturing tech talent, creating a ripple effects of opportunities and growth across the Lagos East senatorial District”, the statement said.

“Our diverse programmes have reached an outstanding total of 4,313 individuals, igniting a passion for technology and innovation.

“Tech Talent Development has been our flagship, with a remarkable 112 individuals completing the programmes, while another 150 are currently enrolled for the next 6 months.

While stating that SAIL has been shaping the tech landscape for tomorrow, it added that the innovation lab has impacted on teachers in Lagos East, in and out secondary school students and others in the areas of entrepreneurship, data and artificial intelligence development.

The hub has also achieved a 95% placement rate in Tech Talent (with an average monthly salary of N200,000) for his trainees.

“The Lagos East Teacher’s Fellowship and our Bus 101 for Artisans and Creatives have collectively enriched 2,531 lives, empowering educator and entrepreneur with the skills to thrive in today’s digital landscape”, it stated.

“Our commitment to the youths is unwavering with specialized STEM programmes for Senior Secondary School Students in and out of school settings, reaching 439 young minds ready to lead tech revolution.

“The Data Science for Society programme has introduce 50 trailblazers to the power of data, a testament to our dedication to cutting-edge fields.

“Beyond education, we have catalysed the creation of 106 Tech and Al (Artificial intelligence) jobs, with an average monthly salary of #200,000, bolstering the economy and setting a new standard for tech employment”, the statement added.

Meanwhile, the management of the Innovation Lab has enjoined members of the public, especially the constituents of the Lagos East Senatorial District, to enroll at the hub for active engagement and elevation.
