-Gets party leaders, others’ commendations
About 100 residents of Agbala Ward in Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of ikorodu Division, were, on Sunday, presented with food items by the Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Lagos State, Prince (Dr.) Adeola Muhydeen Jokomba.
Jokomba thanked the Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms. Abisola Olusanya, for the donation of the palliative food items, and also commended the beneficiaries; some of whom are members of the APC, for supporting and standing with his party.
Each of the beneficiaries was presented with rice, beans and garri, each of which weighed 5kg, at the palace of Baale Otuga.
Hon. Jokomba, speaking at the event, thanked residents for their support over time.
“I just came here to thank you for supporting me and my party over the time, especially during the last elections. Your support since the time that we were using one polling boot till now that we have more polling units, is immeasurable”, the APC State Secretary said.
“My appeal to you is that you should continue to give your support to the APC. I am just here to thank you.
“I also want to thank the Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms Abisola Olusanya who donated the food items which we are distributing today. I also arranged for more so that we will be able to reach out to more people. So, that is why we are here today to support you with these food items”, Hon. Jokomba said.
Hon. Mathew Adesanya, Supervisor for Education, Ikorodu North LCDA, who also spoke, said that Hon. Jokomba, whom he described as the best Chairman so far in the history of Ikorodu North LCDA, has started using his new office to impact on the people.
“Hon Jokomba has started laying good examples and giving back to the party and residents, which has not happened before with other State Secretaries we have had from Ikorodu”, Hon. Adesanya said.
“From the record, Jokomba is still the best chairman in the history of Ikorodu North LCDA, and I am not in any way surprised that Jokomba was picked as the party Secretary, because he performed as a council chairman and he is a good man.
“What he’s doing today is another commendable initiative from him. He could have kept all the food items in his house as some will do and not give them to people in need.
“He is using his position to facilitate the food items from the commissioner, and bought more to make it go round, because he knows that he is there for the people”, he said.
Hon. Adesanya thanked Hon. Jokomba and the Commissioner for Agriculture, for their examplary gesture.
“I thank you very much because this is not a small thing. I have passed through a stage where I used to struggle to get a derica of rice for my children, and that makes me appreciate this gesture from you to the people”, he said.
“I also want to thank our Commissioner for her gesture in remembering where she came from and giving back to the people”.
Another APC leader in the council, Alhaji Kabat Ajalogun, also described the State Secetary has a performer who always makes good use of his office, while also commending the Commissioner.
“He is the first Council Chairman to get an exalted position after office as a chairman. This is because he is a good person and performed while in office. This is what he has also continued to do in office as the State Secretary of our party, and I sincerely commend him”, he said.
“I also thank Commissioner Abisola Olusanya for deeming it fit to give out these food items to our Secretary who, in turn, is giving them to the people”, Alhaji Kabat added.
Hameed Aroyewun, speaking with THE IMPACT, commended the State APC Secretary for the gesture, adding that the food items provided for the people, is enough to serve them for some time.
He added that Hon. Jokomba has brought in dynamism and character into the office within a short time.
Baale Kazeem Olokunola expressed his happiness that one of the Agbala sons is the Secretary of the APC, and he is bringing dividends back home.
He thanked Hon Jokomba for the palliative and asked beneficiaries to accept the food support.
He also commended Rep Babajimi Benson for the road network and street lights he facilitated to the area.
In the same vein, the beneficiaries, many of whom were aged, thanked Hon. Jokomba for the food support.
Other dignitary at the palliative distribution exercise were: Alhaja Aluko, APC leader, Prince Adeyeri Adedoyin, former APC LGA Chairman, Pastor Adewo Oluwole, chieftain of the party, Mrs Juwon Olobu, Ikorodu North LGA Secretary and Hon. Ameen Apanisile, Vice Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA, among others.
