African Church Cathedral Announces Death of Former People’s Warden, Oyejola

SABG Yinka Oyejola, former Warden, the African Church Bethel Cathedral, Ikorodu

The African Church Bethel Cathedral, Aga, Ikorodu, has announced the death of its immediate past Cathedral People’s Warden, Senior Assistant Brigadier General (SABG) Adeyinka O. Oyejola, who died on Sunday.

He was 64 years old.

In a statement today signed by Oluwaseyi A. Adelabu, Cathedral Secretary; Engr. Sunday A. Oshin Cathedral People’s Warden; The Rt. Revd. Hezekiah A. Adetoro (JP), Diocesan Bishop/Chairman-Cathedral Council, the church said that the deceased was a Senior Assistant Brigadier General in The African Church Lads and Lasses Brigade among other positions, until his death.

“It is with deep sadness, and heavy hearts, but total submission to the will of Almighty God, that we announce the passing of our immediate Past Cathedral People’s Warden, Senior Assistant Brigadier General (SABG, Adeyinka O. Oyejola who passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023”, the Cathedral Church said.

“SABG Oyejola was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He was until his death, the President of the Improvement Society of the Cathedral, Member of the Youth Christian Association (YCA), Member of the Cathedral Friendly Society, Member of the Cathedral Traffic and Security Unit, and Life Member of the Cathedral Council.

“He had once served in various other capacities in the Church in time past; Chairman- African Church Youth Association (ACYA) of Bethel-Ikorodu, Diocesan Treasurer of ACYA (Defunct Lagos Diocese), Financial Secretary of The African Bethel Church (now Cathedral), and Diocesan Statistician.

“We pray for the peaceful rest of his soul in Christ Jesus.

“At this trying period, our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, children, grand-children and the entire Oyejola family.

“May the Almighty God console and comfort everyone that has been affected by this sad event”, the Church prayed.
