Two pupils of the Kith & Kin Montessori Schools (KKMS), beat other geniuses to emerge champions of this year’s school’s Chess Closed Championship that took place within the premises of the school.
While Adedotun Ogunjemiyo emerged the overall champion (senior category), Moyosore Thomas Okeowo was the overall champion in the junior category, held on Monday, 15th May, 2023.
About 30 participants participated in the annual championship held at KKMS premises located at 32 TOS Benson Avenue, Ikorodu, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria.
The head of school, Mrs. Olaitan Ibukunoluwa, described the chess competition as mentally challenging and fun for the pupils.
“It was fun, mentally challenging and competitive. One thing to be admired in the kids is the seriousness and emotions they put into their games, they go all out. It is a yearly competition and each year, the kids are better than they were the previous year. They are determined, they are champions! From KKMS to the world!”, she said.
