Federal Lawmaker Postpones Road Grading Till After Raining Season

The representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, who was recently re – elected for the third term, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, has announced the stoppage of road grading across his constituency.

The exercise, which the lawmaker has been embarking upon since his emergence as the representative of Ikorodu, eight years ago, will resume after the raining season.

He made the announcement about the suspension of the road grading, in a statement today.

“The raining season is upon us, hence, community road grading exercise will be put on hold until the dry season”, Rep. Benson said.

“This will allow for the yearly maintenance and effective use of the grader within communities in Ikorodu Federal Constituency”.

Meanwhile, the lawmaker has listed 10 communities where massive road grading has taken place in the past months.

“However, in the last few months, we have been able to grade over 10 internal roads in Ikorodu Division in partnership with Community Development Associations (CDAs).
The benefiting areas include: Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA – Lajo Community, Offin, Lewusu CDA, Offin, Erigidan CDA, Oreyo, Offin-Ile major road, Olu-Odo major road, Ikorodu West LCDA – Igbo-Olomu major road and Ojokoro New Town.

Also, Ikorodu Central – Mowo-Kekere, Ikorodu, G. F Alogba street and Lowa communities, Ikorodu North LCDA – Agbede-Olosugbo CDA.

“We assure you that the grader will be deployed again to the inner roads whenever the rain subsides”, the lawmaker pledged.
