-Expresses satisfaction over Sanwo – Olu’s performance

The First Permanent Chairman, Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs and the Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa (Oba) Engr. Kabir Adewale Shotobi, has said that the Presidency of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu with Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo – Olu as the governor of Lagos State, will be a great benefit to the economic centre of the country.

Ayangbure said that the duo holding sphere as President and Governor of Lagos will bring about the much talk about special status for the state, which was a former federal capital territory and micro – Nigeria, due to its opportunities.

Oba Shotobi also said that he is satisfied with the performance of the governor in the last four years while reiterating that it is the turn of Ikorodu to produce the next governor of the State, after Sanwo-Olu.

The First Class royal father made the remarks at the 2023 Pre – Ramadan Lecture/Special Prayers by Zumratul Islamiyyah Grammar School Old Students’ Association (ZIGSOSA) 715 (1971 to 1975), which was hosted at the banquet hall of the Ayangbure palace on Sunday.

“I am pleased, so happy and delighted with Mr Governor’s performance. I have seen what he has been able to do in Ikorodu and still doing”, Oba Shotobi said.

“His re – election and with Tinubu as the President, will bring the emergence of a special status for Lagos State. Tinubu will be able to work with Sanwo – Olu, unlike what we saw when President Obasanjo was the President.

“He withheld Lagos State funds and prevented new council formations. It took the ingenuity of Tinubu for Lagos to survive.

“We want special status for Lagos.

“Tinubu nurtured the 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) with the old 20 Local Governments to make it 57 councils which are now developing and embarking on projects. We need him to replicate his idea for Nigeria and make our country work as Lagos is working.

“He started his journey to the Presidency long ago. He is a special breed that would help us resolve many challenges in Nigeria. I saw a picture where he was standing behind Gen. Abacha and Abiola who are both dead but he’s the last man standing.

“There will be changes if Tinubu finally moves to the federal as the President. He has the capacity and what it takes to turn around the country”, Oba Shotobi said.

Speaking further on Sanwo – Olu, Oba Shotobi charged his old school colleagues and Lagosians to come out on Saturday and vote for the re – election of the governor to enable him protect Lagos State heritages.

“Now that Igbos are trying to takeover Lagos, it is now incumbent on all of us to rise up to the challenges through prayers and actions, and by trooping out to vote on Saturday with family members and friends”, Oba Shotobi said.

“You must all come out to vote and exercise your civic duty”.
