Senator Abiru, Rep. Benson Win Polling Booths For Selves, Tinubu

-Shittu, PDP House of Reps candidate loses booth to APC

The Senator representing the Lagos East Senatorial District and Member of the House of Representatives representing the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Senator Tokunbo Abiru and Rep. Babajimi Benson, have won their respective polling units in the Presidential and the National Assembly elections that were held on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

While Abiru is seeking re – election for a second term, Rep. Benson is contesting for the third term.

Abiru voted at polling booth 11, Odugate area of lkorodu, where the INEC officials arrived late and commenced accreditation behind the scheduled time. The Senator and his wife, Feyisara, were at the unit, and were accredited and cast their ballot papers around 11.30am.

A total of 104 voters were accredited at the polling unit which was heavily secured by officers of the DSS and the Nigerian police.

In his own election, the Senator polled 85 votes to defeat his closest arrival, the PDP candidate who polled 14 votes.

Also, in the Presidential election at the same unit, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the APC candidate, polled 72 votes to floor Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the PDP who scored 12 votes and Labour Party candidate, Mr Obi who polled 4 votes.

Also, the APC candidate for the House of Representatives, Rep. Benson, won with 85 votes, while PDP candidate polled 11 votes and Labour party 4 votes.

At the booth 001, Molatori palace along Ibeshe road where Rep. Babajimi Benson voted, the ranking Federal lawmaker won his own election with 104 votes to defeat the PDP candidate who polled 52 votes.

In the Presidential election, APC scored 77 votes, Labour 83 votes and PDP 3 votes.

For the Senatorial election, APC won with 98 votes and PDP scored 51 votes.

In the polling booth 002, Molatori, which is directly opposite 001, the incumbent House of Representatives member also won with 100 votes to defeat the PDP candidate who scored 29 votes.

At the booth, APC won the Presidential election with 77 votes to defeat Labour party which scored 55 votes and PDP with 5 votes.

In the Senatorial elections, APC also won the unit with 97 votes to 31 scored by the PDP.

Cumulatively, APC polled 204 votes for the House of Representatives in polling units 001 and 002, Molatori, Ibeshe road, compared to PDP’s 81 votes, while in the Presidential election, APC scored 154 votes to also defeat Labour Party (138 votes) and PDP (8 votes).

In the Senatorial election, the aggregate score is APC 195 votes and PDP 82 votes.

Meanwhile, candidate of the PDP for the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Mr AbdulKareem Shittu lost his polling unit to the APC. He also lost the Presidential and Senatorial elections to the ruling party.

Shittu, who voted at the polling unit 060, Allison Street, Ikorodu, voted around 10.21am.

The PDP Candidate was only able to garnered 5 votes in his own polling unit, while the APC candidate, Rep. Benson, scored 15 votes to beat him at home.

In the Presidential election, both the PDP Labour party scored 3 votes each and while APC won with 13 votes.
Also, PDP scored 7 votes to lose the Senatorial election at the Shittu’s polling unit to APC which scored 12 votes.
