2023 Elections: Egbin Monarch, Ijede Chair Charge Residents On Massive Voting

Kunle Adelabu

The Obateru of Egbin Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa (Oba) Dr AbdulHakeem Oriyomi Oyebo, and Chairman, Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo – Alogba, have charged residents of Egbin and Ijede on the need to come out in large numbers during the forthcoming general elections and vote for the candidates of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC).

The first class traditional ruler stated that it is important for the residents to vote for the government that took over the only public school which he established, in order to encourage them to establish a secondary school in Egbin community.

Oba Oyebo and Hon. Alogba made the call at the maiden inter – house sports competition of the Egbin Kingdom Nursery and Primary Schools, Egbin.

Obateru, speaking with THE IMPACT, said:

“We have told them today as we have been telling them before today’s event. We have encouraged them to collect their PVCs and we have told them today as well that they should come out en masse in the coming elections to vote for the candidate of their choice from the State assembly level to the national level”, the royal father said.

“As we are celebrating the establishment of the primary school, so shall we celebrate when secondary school is established. We have a University (LASUSTECH) on ground for our children, and you know that the Otunba of Egbin (now former Registrar) is the Registrar of the University.

“But note that you must troop out to vote for the government that supported us for the primary school, so that we can ask them for secondary school. After graduating from primary school, it is important for our pupils to have a secondary here to attend”, Obateru appealed.

On her own part, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo – Alogba, while appreciating residents for the collection of their PVCs, also charged them to use the coming elections to tell the government what they desire.

“I will just add to Kabiyesi’s appeal. On Saturday 25th, I want you all to go out and cast your votes, but before then, ensure that you keep your PVCs. Don’t let those people lie to you in order to collect it from you”, she said.

“In this coming election, our PVC is what we are going to use to talk about what we need. What Kabiyesi has done will be small compared to what Asiwaju will do through him when he emerges and it is your PVCs that you will use to vote for him. You also have to vote for Tokunbo Abiru (Senate), Jimi Benson (House of Representatives) and Moshood Aro for our House of Assembly. So, those are the people you will vote for and if it all goes like that, I myself won’t have much to do because support will come from those that you will be electing and Kabiyesi will have more support and the stress will reduce because the support system will be much”, Hon. Alogba emphasized.

“Please, come out and vote because we are not going to fight anyone. It is our PVCs that we will use and your efforts will not be in vain”.

The Council boss assured that voters in Ijede LCDA which has Ijede town, Egbin Kingdom, Abule – Eko, Oke – Eletu and other communities, will vote massively for APC candidates come February 25 and March 11.

“Come February 25th by the grace of God, the Ijede community will come out en masse to vote for the ruling party; our own party, APC. We are going to give Bola Tinubu that mandate; we are going to elect Tokunbo Abiru; we are going to re – elect Sanwo – Olu; we are going to re – elect Babajimi Benson and we are going to make AMA earn that vote in March 11th. Ijede is ready to support our party because they have given me the support I needed and I really appreciate it”, she said.

“Right now, I am begging them to please come out en masse and show me the true love that they have for me and APC, because PVC is what we are talking about now and PVC will give us the results”, she pleaded.
